Paginated listings, filtered category pages, and print-friendly versions often duplicate content that already exists elsewhere on your site — which can split ranking signal across multiple near-identical URLs instead of consolidating it.
The fix:
add a rel="canonical" tag on paginated/filtered pages pointing to the primary version you actually want ranked. This tells search engines which URL is the "real" one, even when duplicate content genuinely needs to exist for usability.
